Meindert Talma, from Surhuisterveen (Friesland), occupies a special place in the Dutch artist world. Besides being a pop musician, he is also a writer, poet and - he says himself - a professional drinker. However, the latter does not prevent him from continuing to work at a stiff pace. The Kriebelvisje, released at the beginning of 2003, is already his fifth album since 1997 and he also wrote three
… books in between. It will therefore come as no surprise that Talma's CDs are mainly distinguished by their special song lyrics. Also on Kriebelvisje are some beautiful examples such as The Law Of Preservation Of Misery, It Is Never Happened As Long As It Is A Secret and the ode to boxer Rudy Koopmans. The music is not really original, and listened. Hopefully the unexpected success of label mate ensure that more people will now also listen to the special songs of Meindert Talma. Because if you can explain in the nine-minute long 'lower gospel' why the EO program The Musical Fruit Basket is a blessing for mankind, then you are a genius. (MvP)more
