The Finnish symphonic rock group Nightwish seems to be in a position to fail and after every setback to come out stronger. It was only after the departure of their immensely popular singer Tarja Turunen that they made their best-selling albums with new vocalist Anette Olzon. Halfway through a successful world tour, somewhere in America, Olzon was also put aside and temporarily replaced by Dutch
… singer Floor Jansen. The former After Forever singer has now been hired as a permanent member and the fans are looking forward to new material. Showtime, Storytime, a bulky fan package with two DVDs and two CDs, shows that Jansen is completely in her element among the Finns. She is classically trained but can also rock solidly and moves majestically on stage during a concert in which everything - music and decor - is grand, mythical and bombastic. The second DVD includes a documentary in which her story, how she became the singer of a mega band from one day to the next, is extensively discussed. (MR)more
