After many setbacks and failed attempts, the reunion of the legendary primal line-up of Black Sabbath around 2011 was a fact. But the makers of metal classics like Master Of Reality and Paranoid eventually had to find a replacement drummer because original member Bill Ward was dissatisfied with his contract. Even worse was the illness that guitarist Tony Iommi had to overcome before he could go into
… the studio with singer Ozzy Osbourne and bassist Geezer Butler to record 13 (2013). That album was a bit disappointing, but it didn't sell a ticket less during the world tour that followed, which also included Rotterdam. Also on this live recording from Melbourne, the audience is served with a set list that, apart from the recent single God Is Dead ?, consists solely of their best and most famous work from the seventies. Three wonderfully well-preserved gentlemen perform themselves worthily with immortal songs such as War Pigs, NIB and Children Of The Grave. These may lack their original charms but sound better and more massive than ever, making this a nice souvenir for those who recently saw the Black Sabbath live. (MR)more
