In 2020 we could all use some live music, since COVID-19 will not allow festivals and concerts to take place. The War On Drugs meets that need and didn't choose to focus on just one concert registration, but put together a collection with songs from different performances during tours of both Lost In The Dream (2014) and A Deeper Understanding (2017). … shows how much energy they can transmit live. It's nice to hear that front man Adam Granduciel and his band members are able to translate the album versions to the stage in such a diverse way. Just like on the album, the band takes time to build up and expand their songs, which results in several splashing climaxes. The lesser known Buenos Aires Beach from debut album Wagonwheel Blues (2008) also got a nice spot on the album. (JvQ)more
