Since 2015, it has been relatively quiet around My Morning Jacket, the Louisville group. Carl Broemel and Jim James have released solo albums and the latter recently produced 's unsurpassed debut (2020) . The Waterfall II is not a full-blown return of the band, but was composed of the rest of recordings, their latest album from 2015. The recording took place in a nature reserve in California
… which led to great inspiration that was good for (according to the band) at least three albums. The Waterfall II is certainly not inferior to the first part. No band loves deep reverberations as much as My Morning Jacket and from those mists strong songs emerge with influences from psychedelic rock and American roots music.
