Having a great voice is one thing, doing something creative with it is another. Janne Schra (Laren, 1981) was already a celebrated singer before she knew exactly what she wanted in music. With the jazz pop band , she achieved almost everything that is possible in the Netherlands in a short period of time in her twenties. However pleasant the music sounded, Schra was not happy with her acclaimed
… formation. In 2010 she started her own band and released her first solo album three years later. She then showed a less casual side of herself. The songs could still sound so light-hearted, the person behind them certainly had something to say. The same feeling arises when listening to your successor Ponzo. Together with friend Torre Florim ( ) she recorded clever and profound pop songs at home. Fans of female singers with a golden throat and a well-developed taste, such as or , should definitely give Ponzo a try. Schra has completely found her place with this album. And her voice remains very strong, of course. (JE)more
