Music from Cuba has enjoyed great interest thanks to Buena Vista Social Club and Compay Segundo. Vieja Trova Santiaguera comes from the eastern part of Cuba. The five band members have an average age of 80 years. They were discovered during a jam session in a Cuban cafe. These musicians have previously been active in existing groups such as El Cuarteta Patria, La Estudiantina and Los Compadres.
