Clannad was the only and first band ever to score a Gaelic hit in the British song lists with Theme From Harry's Game. The Irish family band had their own sound, in which traditional Celtic music was cast in a more modern and atmospheric arrangement of ethereal vocal and instrumental melodies and harmonies. The original line-up consisted of Maire (later stage name Moya) Brennan, her brothers Ciaran and Pol Brennan and their twin uncles Noel and Padraig Duggan. In 1989 Pol left the band and after Landmarks the remaining band members took a rest period that inadvertently lasted longer than expected. At regular family events there was of course spontaneous music and every now and then they performed with old material at festivals, but it did not lead to a new album. A reunion through a concert series in Dublin's Christ Church Cathedral in 2011 changed that. The original line up went on tour again and there was inspiration for new songs, which were tried out on the enthusiastic audience.
