Excelsior seems to have the gift of giving Dutch musicians a chance at the right time. Similarly with Tangarine. Seek & Sigh is the twins' first album to be released by this record label. While their talent was beyond dispute after the previous album , with Seek & Sigh they seem to be able to establish themselves for good. Subtle, accessible pop-up songs in the style of predominate on
… their fifth studio album . There are also influences from to hear, something that was not the case before. The sound that is delivered is therefore also a bit more varied. The harmony vocals are still sublime, the acoustic accompaniment warm and nowhere too exuberant. On the 'A-side' Younger Than I'm Now, Waters On The Rise and Reasons are the absolute trendsetters, on the 'B-side' the beautiful ending What You've Been Before is the most striking track. The move to Excelsior was a wise decision, it seems like a marriage that will withstand the toughest storms. (BvdV)more
