The Dutch folk duo Ygdrassil named itself after the world tree from Nordic (Scandinavian) mythology. … less. Their fifth album Easy Sunrise contains meticulous folk songs based on American / English example, with beautiful singing together by the two Groningen ladies. The beautifully harmonizing voices of Coenders and Nijland are the greatest strength of the sober songs, often with no more than an acoustic guitar, and sometimes a banjo, mandolin or accordion. In addition to self-written material, two traditionals and three covers are also performed, including Motorcycle Mama by Neil Young and The North Star Grassman And The Ravens by Sandy Denny. (IV)more
