With the opening and title track of their debut album, Dublin's Inhaler leave no stone unturned. With a pleasant pace, echoing guitars and powerful vocals from frontman Eli Hewson (the son of
Bono) a strong tone is set. In terms of sound, you'll hear the same dynamic and expansive sound of bands like
Stereophonics and
Manic Street Preachers reflected. As the album title betrays, Inhaler's music
… refers to a time when everything gets better. That's why the tone is optimistic and sparkling. Subtle influences of synthpop and psychedelic rock give a tasteful edge to this debut, although they never really take risks or colour outside the lines. These young dogs are forgiven, because with It Won't Always Be Like This they've delivered a solid and fresh indie album. (JvQ)more
