With the fast follow up of his debut album
Blue Vear (2020) Rowwen Hèze-frontman Jack Poels once again proves himself a master of poetic, acoustic listening songs. The album title II not only stands for the second solo album, but also symbolizes the pause button on the remote control. Due to the corona restrictions and cancelled tours, in 2020 Poels got the space to do what he loves most: painting
… and writing. He also discovered a different attitude to singing, which gave him more air and peace in his body. With his melancholy, dark-tinted voice, Poels sings twelve stories taken from life in North Limburg dialect. Together with the excellent (slide)guitarists Jan Hendriks (ex-Doe Maar) and Bart-Jan Baartmans, Poels puts down another beautiful album in rootsy folk and americana style. (SvdP)more
