Norah Jones, the American daughter of Indian sitar master , will always be the creator of the now classic vocal jazz album (2002). With this successful debut in her pocket, she then went her own way quite carefree. She collaborated with other famous artists, experimented and acted. Pick Me Up Off the Floor wasn't actually planned, but a collection of unreleased songs forced her to work out.
Listening to the album, it is striking that she has become a strong and tough performer over the years, far away from that fragile girl behind the piano on Come Away With Me. This time she collaborated with and knew to snare behind the drums. Pick Me Up Off The Floor contains a beautiful and catchy mix of jazz, soul and pop. Songs about loneliness and full of love troubles, but performed by a real diva. (MR)more
