Ben Howard struck a chord with many people in 2011 with the single Keep Your Head Up. The accompanying album, Howard's debut, was in the album top-100 in the Netherlands for more than two years. Ben Howard is not the man to let all that attention turn his head around. He chose a serving role in A Blaze Of Feathers, a band started by his friend Mickey Smith and also enjoyed surfing and gardening.
That relaxed mentality makes this third album by the British singer enjoyable again. He recorded the album partly in France and in the English county of Cornwall. It is music for the countryside, the medicine to relax with. And although Howard is not a great singer, with his mumbling diction and strong songs he manages to create an atmosphere that will appeal to many people. (PdK)more
