It is nice to come home with Marco Borsato. His tenth album feels as familiar as your own living room. Everyone recognizes that voice and that sound. Producers and Gordon Groothedde have also chosen to take few risks. They outsource only two songs (partly) to singer / songwriters and . Even these cautious forays don't look out of place. Home is a consistent album. There are no rappers flown in
… and no recent music trends followed. It is striking that the is well on steam on most of the songs. It is no problem for Borsato to keep up with that musical whirlwind. His voice echoes over the strings and wind instruments as usual. In the quiet parts he knows how to bring out the emotions well. No one can make Ewbank's iconic lyrics sound as natural as Borsato. With any other singer, phrases like "I seem to be frozen by the sun" or "When you fall, it is sometimes like flying" would sound very wanted. With Borsato they almost sound logical. (JE)more
