For a well-known band from Volendam, the 3Js actually have few real hits to their name. Only three times did Jan, Jaap and Jan make it to the Dutch top 40; in addition to their entry for the Eurovision Song Contest, they included collaborations with Ellen ten Damme (Wat Is Dromen, 2010) and Het Metropole Orkest (Worldwide Orchestra, 2011). Perhaps these kinds of combinations bring out the best in
… the 3Js, because two new collaborations are among the strongest moments on studio album number seven. The bilingual Sterren (Even Stars Fall) immediately stands out. The catchy chorus is sung by Kyler England, one of the singer / songwriters with whom the band wrote songs in the United States (all of which were otherwise translated into Dutch). But even better is the Closing Concert, that by Jack Poels and accordionist Tren van Enckevort van Rowwen Hèze a (h) honest melancholic edge is provided: 'We are in the same boat, we want to move forward, And if you don't make it, I will sing at your final concert.'
