Maria Mena takes a different approach with Weapon In Mind. Rest assured: the way of singing is still the same and sometimes gives goosebumps. Mena still stuffs a lot more words in a sentence than actually fit in it and the melting factor has not decreased: after every song you would like to hug the Norwegian beauty and whisper to her that everything will be fine. No, the other tack is in production.
Mena worked for this record together with producers Mats Lie Skåre and Martin Sjølie. They have put the traditional instruments aside and opted for a trance-like design. Maria's voice is also sometimes cut and sampled. The results are impressive. Weapon In Mind is much less safe and predictable than we have become accustomed to from Maria Mena over the past decade.
