After the death of saxophonist in 2011, Bruce Springsteen doubted for a moment whether he wanted to continue the album Working On A Dream (2009). In 2008 his regular keyboardist had already passed away and with that The Boss and his two enormous blows in a short time. Nevertheless, Springsteen got his regular band members back together, supplemented by a few guest musicians. The result: Wrecking
… Ball. Together with this is without a doubt his best work since the millennium. Bruce sounds more eager than ever before and is very critical of his America. Especially the bankers and the grabbers of the big money get hit in songs like Easy Money, the very strong Jack Of All Trades and the fierce Death My Hometown. Springsteen knows better than anyone how to express the frustrations of the hard-working American. But he is also hopeful in Land Of Hope And Dreams, which also functions as a tribute to his deceased buddy Clarence who leaves an important mark on the song with two unparalleled saxophone solos. Wrecking Ball shows that we are not rid of The Boss for the time being. (BvdV)more
