'The title of the album is Fier, after all it is our' proud 'album', Nick and Simon joke on their website. The two singers from Volendam may therefore be particularly proud of the fact that they have already made four CDs since 2006. Add to that all the performances (two of which were released on DVD), video clips and TROS programs and you will automatically get sympathy for these hard-working Dutch
… people. With no less than sixteen strong songs, this new record makes a big impression, even if there is a small blemish. The boys show on stage that they can sing well and that they are lord and master in the field of harmony singing. Nick and Simon don't even turn their hand for the complex harmonies from songs by other artists such as or . It is therefore incomprehensible why the vocals on this album have been digitally polished so unsubtle. The gentlemen clearly do not need this and even undermines their unique strength. Who knows, this may have something to do with their crowded schedule and high productivity. Anyway, in the end it shouldn't spoil the fun, because Fier is just a good pop album. (JE)more
