Two years after the album Rotterdam, on which U-NIQ (real name: Anthony Pengel) proved that he can also handle the Dutch language, the rapper releases Het Kapitalisme. The booklet looks very artistic and immediately attracts attention. But what about the CD itself? The album starts off promising with nice, hard beats and on Ten-Toon-Spelling the listener is tested on his command of the Dutch language.
Unfortunately, as the album progresses it weakens a bit. Rico, Sticks, Heinek'n and Winne, among others, make their appearance and compensate for the unnecessary presence of footballers Royston Drenthe and Ryan Babel. Capitalism ends strongly and leaves fans with a satisfied feeling. Overall it is an entertaining CD and U-NIQ once again proves that it belongs to the top. Capitalism is not better than its predecessor, but it is indeed a worthy successor. (GL)more
