Not to everyone's satisfaction, singer Fergie joined the with the album (2003) . She brought the group mainstream success and access to the pop audience - and how! - but the BEP seemed to be lost for the hip-hop supporters. … most of the songs and can be heard several times. Fergie tries out several styles on The Dutchess, but always stays in the 'urban corner' of r & b, hip-hop and soul. There is also some flirtation with reggae and a ballad is not missing. Fergie's solo excursion does not really impress.
