American R&B singer Bobby Valentino successfully released his self-titled debut album in 2005. With the support of the popular rapper Ludacris, on whose label Disturbing Tha Piece the album was released, he managed to sell more than one and a half million copies of his CD worldwide. With a smooth image, and equally smooth music, Valentino managed to conquer a place in the overcrowded R&B
… market. His second album Special Occasion is, disrespectfully, more of the same. Valentino once again shows himself to be a crooner of the purest kind, who puts the drama on top. Each song is about the unreachable or otherwise unattainable woman who, after a night of Cristal drinking champagne in the club, goes home with Bobby if possible, where of course 'the magic happens'. Tim & Bob, the producers behind Valentino's hits Slow Down and Tell Me are also present, as are Rodney 'Darkchild' Jerkins and Timbaland, who again deliver the best song here with Anonymous.
