In 2001 New Order was back in full force. The comeback record made it clear that the eighties icons could still keep up well in the 21st century and that none of their energy had been lost. In addition, the eighties were once again in the spotlight, and that has only increased since Get Ready. With Waiting For The Sirens' Call, New Order proves that the success of Get Ready was by no means a one-off.
The sound has not changed significantly: the characteristic guitar sound is present everywhere, there are many synthesizers and everything has a typical melancholic atmosphere again. Waiting For The Sirens' Call has some very strong songs such as the single Krafty, with electronic drums and a nice melodic synthesizer break. The collaboration with producer is remarkable, which as one of the first to recycle the 1980s. In the song Guilt Is A Useless Emotion New Order he gives a good dose of plastic glitter beats so that they can hit the dance floor. And that is not bad for four gentlemen in their fifties. (IV)more
