When you hear the name Kitty Wu you think more of an Asian than a Scandinavian band. Yet the roots of the four gentlemen lie in Denmark. Kitty Wu's second album is a guitar record in the style of Radiohead, Coldplay and Muse, but darker, perhaps more Scandinavian. Especially singer Robert Lund causes melancholic outbursts in the predominantly serious songs. The highlight is the song Punch-Drunk,
… which is most reminiscent of songs from the Radiohead album Amnesiac, although there is less experimentation. The beautiful production is in the hands of Rob Ellis, known for PJ Harvey. Together with the band he managed to captivate ten songs. (JdD)more
