Although disco house is a type of music mainly made by French acts (Bob Sinclar, Benjamin Diamond, Superfunk and of course Daft Punk), Room 5 really comes from Belgium. Room 5 is one of the projects of Vito Lucente, who was born in Italy and who lives in Brussels. As Room 5 he scored a worldwide hit in 2003 with the song Make Luv (known from a deodorant advertisement) and under his other name Junior
… Jack he had a big summer hit with E Samba in the same year. Make Luv was based on Oliver Cheatham's disco classic Get Down Saturday Night, who also provided the vocals for the title track of Room 5's debut album Music & You (2003). Music & You is full of deliciously stomping disco house from which it is abundantly clear that Lucente has listened very well to the French grandmasters of Daft Punk. That is also the biggest problem with this CD: we have all heard it before, and better. (IV)more
