This is already the third album from the band that initially started as a side project of guitarist Stone Gossard (Pearl Jam, Mother Love Bone, Green River) and drummer Regan Hagar. The two found a great singer in Shawn Smith, who managed to combine his activities in Brad with his own group Satchel. Partly thanks to Smith's strong lead vocals, Brad grew into a full-fledged band, where the more
… melodic and soft side of the group members could manifest itself. Smith's predilection for seventies mainstream rock (Queen, Kiss) and Prince has ensured that the group's songs are generally quite melodic and accessible. The background of the individual members in solid grunge bands can only be heard in details. Although the tone of the record is subdued, the band does not sound weak or uninspired anywhere. (MS)more
