The symphonic rock group Supertramp made a number of excellent albums in the 1970s, of which Breakfast In America (1979) is the best known. The songs School, Logical Song and Goodbye Stranger, sung by Roger Hodgson, are true classics that still regularly appear in programs such as Goud Van Oud and Arbeidsvitaminen. After Hodgson left Supertramp in 1982, the band went downhill. Rick Davies became
… the new frontman. Since then, new material has seldom been released and that was of a mediocre quality. It took Davies no less than five years to write the nine weak new songs on Slow Motion. Moreover, the musicians sound quite worn out. My conclusion is that they better stop because in this way the name Supertramp is unnecessarily taken down. (MvP)more
