The Belgian band Gorki has made a number of beautiful CDs, which each time went virtually unnoticed in the Netherlands. With each new album, journalists and fellow musicians expressed their admiration for the songs of singer / songwriter Luc De Vos, but the deserved success was not forthcoming. Automatic Buffalo is De Vos's new English-language project. He is accompanied by famous Belgian rockers,
… there is a guest appearance by Mauro (Pawlowski) in the beautiful We Were Lovers. Apart from the language of instruction, there are few differences to be discovered between Automatic Buffalo and Gorki. However much De Vos tries his best not to be that Fleming, you keep hearing Gorki right through it. Party People again features some dynamic and compelling guitar songs and even in English the hoarse voice of De Vos sounds super melancholic. The lyrics are cryptic, sometimes surrealistic and always full of sarcasm, black humor and perspective. The question is whether they are waiting for Automatic Buffalo abroad, but the fans in the Netherlands and Belgium will be very happy with this beautiful album! (MvP)more
