Less than a year after the release of Robben Ford comes up with successor A Day In Nashville. That title should be taken literally, because the blues guitarist recorded the album in one day at The House Of Blues Studios in Nashville. With minimal techniques and adjustments to the final result, Ford hoped to bring an authentic live sound to the album. That intention has succeeded. The warmth and
… spontaneity radiate from A Day In Nashville. His fellow musicians are given ample opportunity for elaborate solos and surprising riffs that regularly stretch the songs to over five minutes. Ford meanwhile is jamming happily on his electric guitar, although he keeps the direction. It delivers warm blues rock with a hint of jazz, of which Ain't Drinkin 'Beer No More, Top Down Blues and Just Another Country Road are the most successful results. (BvdV)more
