… solo album called Elemental Journey is completely instrumental. This puts the emphasis on his guitar work, but he also knows how to pleasantly surprise without lyrics. The record opens with heavy rocker Gaia Tribe, which also features a contribution from Joe Satriani. Then Landreth takes a more bluesy road with For You And Forever and Heavy Heart Rising, a style that he maintains until the closing song Opening Sky. His howling guitar is supplemented by a few strings here and there and with the help of an excellent backing band he proves that he can deliver a wonderful blues album without vocal violence.
