The Urges were formed in Dublin, Ireland in 2003. In 2004 they played the Oxegen festival's 'new band' stage and shortly afterwards recruited drummer Ken Mooney. Their debut single "Around and (Around Again)" was produced by Pete Holadai of The Radiators From Space. It reached number 20 in the Irish singles charts.
