Drs. P. fell for his creative and often humorous use of the Dutch language and unique voice that he was talking more than singing. Drs. Born in 1919 in Switzerland as Heinz Polzer. His father was an Austrian, his mother Dutch. Polzer would continue throughout his life his Swiss nationality. Polzer was actually PhD student, he had a degree in economics. His stage name was coined by William Duys.
Polzer already had a life as sit up bar pianist, writer and translator when he became nationally known in 1964 as a poet and singer. Polzer was then 45 years. Drs. P. scored three top 40 hits.
