Senegalese musician and singer Mansour Seck is known for his collaboration on the successful albums of fellow countryman Baba Maal with whom he grew up together in the city of Podor. In 1994 he released his first solo album "N'der Fouta Tooro, Vol. 1" followed a year later by "N'der Fouta Tooro, Vol. 2". On his new CD "Yelayo" Mansour Seck is again only accompanied by his own guitar playing and
… acoustic traditional instruments such as the kora (an instrument with more than 20 strings) and the hoddu (a three to five string instrument). The CD sounds sober and calm, but at the same time penetrating through the often narrative songs. The atmosphere is partly determined by the beautiful voices in the backing vocals of Izabel Gonzales and Cathy Renoir. Mansour Seck sings about the beauty of the hoddu ("more
