Rene Froger can be considered the one and only successor to Lee Towers, and his heavily emphasized, Elvis and Tom Jones-inspired crooner style is an example to countless aspiring bar singers. His style is a curious combination of folk joviality and old-fashioned showmanship. On the other hand, whoever chooses sports presenter Jack van Gelder to sing a duet along, cannot be accused of overly high pretensions.
