… Fon. The 1996 documentary L'Amazone lasts almost an hour. After living outside her home country for thirteen years, Kidjo returns to Benin. She is proud of her culture, a matriarchal society in which women form the cement of society. She honors her ancestors, respects people and nature and propagates the voodoo religion in her life and music.
