Although guitarist and singer Gary Moore only made one record (Black Rose / A Rock Legend from 1979) with Thin Lizzy, he was briefly part of the group a number of times. More than once this had to do with the failure of one of the guitarists of Thin Lizzy, which was ravaged by drug problems, especially in their latter days. Moore was good friends with bassist, singer and frontman Phil Lynott, who
… died in 1986. When Lynott's mother had a statue of her son unveiled in Dublin in 2005, Moore was the right man to organize an accompanying 'tribute concert'. He shares the stage on this recording of this with many veterans of Thin Lizzy, such as guitarists Eric Bell, Brian Robertson and Scott Gorham. The Lizzy classics Don't Believe A Word, The Boys Are Back In Town and Whiskey In The Jar are played with a lot of fire and respect. But at the same time it painfully exposes the absence of the man who took this repertoire to a higher level with that unique and snotty soul voice: Phil Lynott. What remains is a worthy tribute.
