The DVD Live In Japan follows the original line-up of Jack Johnson's band during the tour in Japan, after the unexpectedly successful albums Brushfire Fairytales ('02) and On And On ('03). … sober, economical and very effective. After this tour, the group is joined by keyboardist Zach Gill of the Animal Liberation Front, with whom the album In Between Dreams is recorded. In this line-up a concert is recorded in an extremely atmospheric Greek amphitheater. The sound has become a bit wider, but this seems to make some of the magic of the early Jack Johnson band disappear.
