The English singer Ian Dury, who died on March 27, 2000, celebrated his greatest successes in the late 1970s. With his band The Blockheads he had hits including Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick and Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll. After that, the fame quickly faded and he got into acting. In 1990 he reunited his old band and released the live record Warts 'n' audience. Two years later The Bus
… Driver's Prayer & Other Stories was released. On the CD Mr Love Pants, recorded in October 1996, Dury with his amusing Cockney talkative vocals sounds as before. The energetic and funky playing of The Blockheads, led by guitarist / keyboardist / arranger Chaz Jankel, makes Mr Love Pants an entertaining, especially fun album. Just listen to Jack Shit George, The Passing Show and Itinerant Child.more
