De Nits is one of the few Dutch bands with a truly unique sound. Until the previous album Da Da Da, this was partly determined by keyboard player Robert-Jan Stips. Despite his absence from Alankomaat, Rob Kloet and Henk Hofstede still unmistakably sound like The Nits. Although the band has been reinforced by bassist Arwen Linnemann and keyboard woman Laetitia van Krieken for the theater tour that
… accompanies the album, the duo plays all the instruments on the record. In three songs they are accompanied by Finnish Kimmo Kajasto on keyboard. Alan Tomato is a modest, melancholic record. Hofstede sings his own version of the blues in the songs Hold Me Ge-neva, Louder & Louder, All I Want and Soul Man. Striking is his John Lennon imitation in the most beautiful song on the album Rainfallagain. (WvdZ)more
