Roxy Music likes to call himself a "sound landscaper. Without Eno (born 1948 in Melton, Suffolk), music would definitely have sounded different today, and it was high time for a documentary about his life and work. The film Eno released in 2024 was
… directed by Gary Hustwit. The accompanying soundtrack goes back to Eno's first solo albums, after his departure from Roxy Music, and mostly does a sampling of his influential ambient and instrumental oeuvre, in addition to collaborations with David Byrne and John Cale, among others. Opening with the vocal new track All I Remember, Eno unearths a rich anthology from the imposing work of the man who also devised the Microsoft Windows startup tune. (MR)more
