… never have expected their music to be used as a lullaby. Yet this is the function that the song The Evidence, taken from Pass And Stow (1994) fulfilled in Nathan Salsburg's household. The singer-songwriter enlisted the help of colleagues Bonnie "Prince" Billy and Tyler Trotter to turn it into an album. The original 5-minute track is stretched to a song of over 20 minutes - that's how long, on average, Salsburg must have taken to get his infant daughter to sleep. The daughter in question and that of Bonnie "Prince" Billy also sing along a few words - and what words: 'The devil is a flower plucked from a cloud'.
