Brazilian thrash metal band Sepultura were in the starting blocks for a major tour to accompany their album Quadra in February 2020. Like many other musicians, they saw those plans go up in smoke due to the global outbreak of the corona pandemic. To do something for their fans, the metal veterans started broadcasting an online show on Wednesday nights. Each time a song was performed with a well-known
… guest artist. Megadeth member David Ellefson, vocalists Danko Jones and Devin Townsend and guitarist Scott Ian were among the guests. The songs of this show are now bundled on the album Sepulquarta. Because there is no new material, the album is somewhere between a (best of) studio album and a live album. For the fans of this almost 40-year old band, it is at least a juicy pick-me-up until the moment that they can see their idols in person again. (JV)more
