The Briton Peter Perrett (1952) looks back on a life of alternately dealing drugs and making music. Unfortunately, he did too little of the latter. With his influential post-punk band Between 1978 and 1982 he made three albums and the classic single Another Girl, Another Planet. He sporadically released solo albums or performed with the reunited The Only Ones, but drugs (use and trade) were his core
… business. He is now clean and in 2017 he made the strong How The West Was Won together with his two sons Jamie and Peter. Barely two years later, the follow-up Human World is released on which Perrett seems to feel even better in his own skin and flourishes as a songwriter who has a lot of lost time to make up for. Human World sounds heavier than its predecessor, with which Perrett again, assisted by his beloved sons, is more than ever leaning against the best work of The Only Ones. (MR)more
