On Josh Ritter's tenth studio album, the American picks up where he left off at (2017). A mix of americana, folk, pop and country. The album was produced by and his band provided much of the instrumentation. According to Ritter, Fever Breaks is a snapshot and reflects on what is going on in the world (read: America). Ritter mentions the pain points, but with his music he also applies a plaster
… to the wound that is open. The music thus has a hopeful undertone, whereby Ritter can once again give free rein to his versatility, without treading rough roads. The tightly played Fever Breaks especially shows the steadfastness of the singer-songwriter. (JvQ)more
