The Secret Of Letting Go is the third album by Lou Rhodes and Andrew Barlow since their reunion in 2009. They go back to the typical elements of their earlier work, on which they alternate compositions with a classical slant or supplement them with trip hop and breakbeats. On The Secret Of Letting Go you can hear meditative strings and piano sounds as well as runaway synthesizers and drum computers.
The energy is in any case a bit higher than on predecessor (2014). Lamb's music hasn't really been innovative or shocking for a while, but with their idiosyncratic mix of styles they still manage to create an alienating and mesmerizing whole. (JvQ)more
