Before & breakthrough , there were already some Jamaican singers who were heard internationally. , and Ken Boothe also scored hits overseas. Especially in England, where Boothe had a number 1 hit with Everything I Own in 1974. Strangely enough, that song is not on this album for which Boothe re-recorded some of his most famous songs. That happened live-in-the-studio, or 'inna da yard', as
… they call a courtyard in Jamaica. The good news is that Boothe's voice is just as powerful as it was in the early 1970s and the stripped down versions really add something to the originals. (PdK)more
