Intergalactic Lovers is one of the many Belgian bands that had a successful career start after participating in Humo's Rock Rally, a competition for promising Belgian bands. With fairly intimate rock and the beautiful voice of singer Lara Chedraoui, the foursome made an impression on their first two albums. Exhale was created after a long period of touring and was recorded in England. The sound is
… more bloated and the arrangements sound bigger, but everything still breathes the sound they became familiar with. Exhale is not really exciting, but with the crystal clear production (by Ted Jensen and Gil Norton) the end result is a solid rock album full of compelling and accessible music. Partly due to the typical reverberating guitars, the whole is contagious, but you also notice that a lot of previous work is recycled. Exhale is a beautiful, but by no means surprising album.
