… label ScHoolboy Q is coming with his fourth album. Q (29) then reminisces about his gang history with the Crips and lets 'hoes' rhyme unabashedly with 'bankrolls'. With which we immediately get to grips with two important themes of the Blank Face LP. Musically there is quite a bit to experience, with for example the sinister single Groovy Tony or the beautiful title track with Anderson .Paak. The most exemplary, however, is Big Body with : a super funky song with stupid lyrics (all together: 'fuck that bitch'). It is a pity that a talent like Q can turn the clock back roughly 20 years to the most misanthropic days of the gangster rap. (RME)more
