'Recording this album was one of the best things I've done in years.' Words to that effect, Metronomy frontman Joseph Mount told music magazine NME. Mount also said that this fourth album should be seen as a follow-up to Night Out. That was Metronomy's debut album and it was released in the summer of 2008. That also explains the album title of this album. That summer of 2008 was audibly a party,
… because Metronomy treats the listener to a sunny mix of electropop, disco and blue eyed soul. Don't expect clichés, because Metronomy is way too idiosyncratic for that. On the addictive single Old Skool, for example, a dog barks along and the intro to Night Owl seems to have been played on a church organ. Metromony understands the art of making light pop music without sounding empty. The listener will enjoy this album at least as much as the people who put it together. (PdK)more
