In the late 1960s, The Move was hardly inferior to fellow countrymen such as and . The Birmingham band scored big hits in England with four singles in a row. Flowers In The Rain was also in the Dutch top-5 in 1967. However, The Move was unable to further expand its success. The albums significantly underperformed the singles, and the United States was never conquered. The band passed away after
… a few years of internal struggles. But not before bandleader teamed up with friend (ELO). This much more successful band owed a lot to the pioneering work of The Move. The band made a nice accessible beat with psychedelic influences and heavy guitars. Here and there all the violins, cellos and electronics that would make ELO so popular have popped up. However, the versatile The Move could also play an old-fashioned rhythm & blues song with the greatest of ease. This continuous variety made the promotion of the band difficult.
